Who Am I?........ARTIST/ART INSTRUCTOR

From early in age I have been interested in seeing the world through a creative eye.

Inspiration in art comes from a desire to tell a story about my surroundings, travels, and the people I encounter. I am a passionate and creative person and I channel this expression through my art. Eye candy for the soul.

In displaying and exhibiting my art, I allow the viewer inside. A comparison I usually say is, "art shows are like hanging your clothes out to dry....a part of you is exposed."

I also share this expressive passion when I am involved with teaching and instructing others. This exchange enriches my experience and my own creative process. To them I owe many thanks.

My whimiscal expressions of art have been primarily focused around watercolours; however watersoluable oils are starting to be more of a focus. I paint using jewel toned colours and I love to achvieve the intensity of those colours using oils. Pen and ink also appeals to my sense of stortelling. It is my favourite way of 'zoning out'; a way of loosening up and drawing from imagination.

I spend a lot of time thinking or reading about art, whether it is for a student or working on a new painting, it is an important part of the process.

And lastly, like all creative people I strive for the feedback. The gift of painting and seeing the world through a kaliedoscope of colours is what I value the most; spreading that joy I feel  to others through my art is a bonus.
