ALTERED TULIP MIXED MEDIUM 24x24
Alcohol inks, self levelling gel, pen and a photo are the elements of this painting. Many parts went further than I had in mind. The accident of an enlarged photo started the creative process. UMMM what could I do? Well I could just finish the image and then outline it and then seal it with a glossy finish similar to the photo and viola. Painted on a art board and not needing a frame.
OPENING OF LIFE ACRYLIC 36x36
This rather large canvas gave me an opportunity to do a enlarged tulip. I love tulips. The way the petals fall so randomly open and to the side. Using stunning shades of red create a striking effect upon the purple background. It doesn't need a frame because it is a 1.5 gallery canvas.
SUNFLOWERS ON BLUE OILS 12x16
Painted from a boutique in my kitchen the striking yellow and shape of sunflowers attracted my eye. Framed in a black floating 1/2" frame
THE ORCHID WATERCOLOUR/MIXED MEDIUM 12x12
Watercolour is primarily used but a petal from the flower has also been added to create some interest as you view it. Sealed with cold wav to preserve the integrity of the painting and the flower petal. Framed in a silver green 4" frame with an off white 1/2" liner.
CRAZY POT ACRYLIC 16x20
I love painting flowers in a wide and crazy way. It is whimsical and abstract and I think it puts a tickle in your heart. Painted on a 1 1/2 board so it doesn't need a frame if you don't want one.
STANDING TALL WATERCOLOUR/PEN & INK 12x40
Watercolour on a 1 1/2"canvas. In this painting I drew all the images first and then painted with watercolours. Sometimes I do it in reverse it all depends on how eager I am into doing the drawing which I love the most. It has no frame because the painting wraps around the canvas. It is sealed with cold wax to preserve the integrity of the painting.
RUBY RED WATERCOLOUR with Pen 24x24
A friend asked me the consider painting some poppies. I took the opportunity to paint the poppies in a backward way....painting the background in colour and drawing with pen in black the poppies. Fun to play with and do some drawing.
Framed in a natural coloured coloured pine floating frame.
